Lists and Tags

Lists

Each task belongs to exactly one list.

Creating a list:

  1. Click + next to “Lists” in the sidebar
  2. Enter a name (max 40 characters)
  3. Press Enter

Deleting a list:

  • Right-click the list and select “Delete”
  • Tasks in that list move to Inbox

Tags

A task can have multiple tags. Click a tag in the sidebar to filter tasks by that tag.

Creating tags:

  1. Click + next to “Tags” in the sidebar
  2. Enter a name
  3. Press Enter

Filters

Filters combine:

  • Lists (show tasks from specific lists)
  • Tags (show tasks with specific tags)
  • Statuses (show only available, blocked, etc.)
  • Assignees (show tasks assigned to specific people)

Creating a filter:

  1. Click + next to “Filters” in the sidebar
  2. Configure your criteria
  3. Give it a name and optional emoji
  4. Save

Filters appear in the sidebar for quick access.

Recurring Tasks

Patterns

  • Daily — Every day
  • Weekly — Every 7 days
  • Monthly — Same day each month
  • Yearly — Same day each year

End Conditions

  • Never — Repeats indefinitely
  • After N times — Stops after a number of occurrences
  • On date — Stops after a specific date

Behavior

When you complete a recurring task:

  1. The task is marked complete
  2. A new task is created with the next date
  3. The new task has the same title, list, tags, and recurrence settings

Reminders

Setting Reminders

  1. Select a task
  2. In the detail panel, find the Reminders section
  3. Choose a preset or set a custom date/time

Presets

  • Due Date / Start Date (at 9am)
  • Today / Tomorrow (at 9am)
  • In 2 days / In 3 days
  • In 1 week
  • Custom date and time

Behavior

  • The app checks for due reminders every 60 seconds
  • When a reminder is due, a desktop notification appears
  • Click the notification to open 2080
  • Each task can have up to 10 reminders
  • The app must be running for notifications to work

Toggle reminders on/off in Settings > Reminders.

Focus Mode

Enter Focus Mode:

  • Click the target icon in the sidebar

In Focus Mode:

  • One task displayed at a time
  • Complete it or skip to the next
  • Minimal UI

Exit Focus Mode:

  • Click the exit button or press Escape

Review Mode

Enter Review Mode:

  • Click the clipboard icon in the sidebar

In Review Mode:

  • Review each list systematically
  • Mark tasks complete, reschedule, or delete

Notes

Attach notes to lists for reference material.

Creating a note:

  1. Select a list
  2. Click “Add Note”
  3. Write in Markdown

Notes support full Markdown formatting including headers, lists, code blocks, and links.

Dark Mode

Toggle dark mode in Settings > Appearance.

Data Backup

Export

Go to Settings > Data > Export to save your database as a JSON file.

Import

Go to Settings > Data > Import to restore from a backup.

Import modes:

  • Add — Merge with existing data
  • Replace — Overwrite all existing data

Auto-backup

Configure automatic backups to a folder in Settings.

Settings

Access settings via the gear icon in the sidebar.

Appearance

  • Dark Mode
  • Compact controls (icons only in sidebar)
  • Pin quick add bar to top

Behavior

  • Default list for new tasks
  • Default assignee for new tasks

Assignees

  • Add, edit, and remove team members

Data

  • Export/Import
  • Auto-backup configuration
  • Data file location
